Gem Vises are available in two styles. The Putty Vise is designed to hold small pieces of gemstone or glass for drilling. This unit comes with a 3" diameter x 5/8" deep aluminum tank, a 1" square block of plastic putty and a 1/4" brass ferrule. The plastic putty holds the work piece and the brass ferrule can act as a dam to hold grit or water when drilling. The Nugget & Bead Vise comes with a 3" diameter x 5/8" deep aluminum tank and a vise for holding small beads and nuggets. For both vise styles, always drill with the work piece submerged in water to keep the drill bit cool and to sustain a longer drill bit life.
